My Philosophy
Boise Roots, Global Reach.
My work is bold, colorful, and often experimental.
Sheepdogg is a multifaceted artist, musician, photographer, filmmaker and entrepreneur born and raised in Boise, Idaho. My creative life has taken a lot of different forms, and I expect it always will. The name Sheepdogg comes from the idea of being a protector of the flock — caring about my community, standing up for what I believe in and looking out for the people around me.
My first real creative obsession was graffiti. That eventually led me to co-found Apier Clothing — Artists Pushing Ideals of Elevated Recreation — an artist collective blending street art and fashion. During those years I showed work in galleries, painted murals throughout the Northwest and was a featured muralist in Boise’s Freak Alley and the Boise Mural Project.
Then music took over. I started on guitar, moved to bass and spent years writing, recording and performing with bands including The Higher Council and Tsun Dog. Tsun Dog released multiple EPs, a full album and toured the Northwest. Music became my diary, my creative outlet and eventually the thing that unknowingly led me toward photography and filmmaking.
Around 2019, I picked up a camera as a way to stay connected to the music scene and help promote my friends. What started casually became another obsession. I began shooting bands, creating videos and producing content for businesses, eventually building my media company, Create The Catalyst. I also produced and live-switched weekly concerts for The Boise Hive, working with more than 150 performers during my time there.
A chance opportunity with OMG Productions introduced me to larger professional productions, and joining the Treefort Music Fest photography team changed everything again. For the first time, I was surrounded by a community of photographers pushing each other creatively. Since then, I’ve photographed hundreds of bands, expanded further into filmmaking and photojournalism, and worked media for festivals including Treefort Music Fest, Sawtooth Valley Gathering, Boise Pride, Convergence Fest, M.A.S.H. Festival and Flipside Festival. In 2025, I was also a featured speaker at Photofort discussing my craft and experience photographing Treefort.
My creative life has never stopped with visual media. In 2023, I co-founded Elementary Watson, a live Radio Boise program focused on strategically living a better life. And somewhere in all of this, music has started pulling me back toward the stage again.
My work is bold, colorful and sometimes intentionally unconventional. I love movement, emotion, strange perspectives, creative lighting and images sharp enough to see every drop of sweat. I learn the rules so I know when to break them.
Today, I’m continuing to push into larger projects, deeper storytelling and new creative territory.
Whatever medium I’m working in, the goal stays the same: make something alive, honest and unmistakably mine.
