The Higher Council
2008-2016
The Higher Council was a Boise psychedelic rock and jam project built around groove, improvisation and loose, energetic rock and roll. We released the six-track City of Trees EP in 2018 and spent years playing the Boise scene.
Tsun Dog
2016-2019
Tsun Dog was a modern rock band from Boise, Idaho, with elements of classic rock, blues, Americana, jazz, folk, and much more. The band’s music centered on soulful storytelling from warrior poets, artists, and the common man, with a sound that was always willing to move between styles.
Tsun Dog released the EPs Shadow Dog and Battle for the Sun, later followed by additional releases and the full-length album Plague of Happiness.
The band also created a music video for “I Love You,” one of the projects I’m still most proud to have been part of. You can find it linked in this section.
We all need a little Tsun.

THREE YEARS ON AIR—AND EVOLVING
After three years on Radio Boise, Elementary Watson is entering a new chapter. We’re refining the show’s structure, expanding the voices at the table, and creating more space for focused topics, generational perspectives, featured experts, nonprofits, and community conversations. The show is evolving, but its purpose remains the same: helping people understand more so they can live more strategically.
ELEMENTARY WATSON
Elementary Watson is built on a simple belief: the more we understand ourselves, other people, and the society around us, the more intentionally we can live. We explore the questions and challenges of everyday life through social science, turning deeper understanding into practical ways to move forward.
RESEARCH MEETS REAL LIFE
Social scientist Dr. JoEllen Watson grounds each topic in research and education. Michael “Sheepdog” Sheehan brings lived experience, direct questions, and an ever-evolving curiosity about people and the world around us. Featured experts and community nonprofits add knowledge and perspectives from beyond the studio, creating conversations that are informed, honest, and useful in everyday life.
